When I have looked at booking a package on the UK site it tells you when you can start using your tickets...

We did it last April, we had a package with free ddp booked at ssr. We had a couple of days off site first, I went to guest services in Disney springs, it did take forever.
As we only wanted to go to blizzard beach she just ended up giving us one day tickets for there. She also gave us three extra fastpasses each for the delay.
She said it would of been easier and more straight forward to do it at the front desk of ssr.
Personally I would do okw first if only for the fastpasses.

Indeed.

However, the email that loves2plan posted (from Disney) seems to say that if you ask Disney nicely you can get the tickets up to 10 days earlier than that date.

Although, based on LLamb’s post above, it may not be simple to do.

Yes they had no problem in doing it in theory. It was just a problem with the computer system at the time. Still I wouldn’t want to base my holiday on the ability to do this incase they do encounter problems, then you are stuck.

Just to reiterate though, even if you can use them early, your first stay (villa) won't open FP+ wise until check-in day at OKW & the only reason that it does as opposed to 30 days is because the system isn't set up to recognise that anyone would stay elsewhere before their Disney stay, so all days prior to your stay will open at 60 days from check in
