Is a new esta needed

Hi everyone husband has filled in my mums esta for our up coming trip in August this year. By mistake he added a f after her first name and this has come up on the print out esta form. Will we ha e to do a new one as the letter f has nothing to do with her name at all.

Yes, if the name does not match the passport, a new ESTA is needed.

Thank you he must of pressed the letter f and didn�t notice till email sent back it didn�t appear at all on her passport

There�s three chances to correct it before you commit the application. If he didn�t notice after three checks then you need to give him a wee smack

Oh I did 😂😂then he will have to pay for new one now.

Hi LF - as per the new official ruling, he'll also need to complete all her given fore names - if he hovers over the ? after each question it explains their requirements.

This is really strange. We redid our estas last week as we'd not put our middle name in when we did them earlier in the year (duh!). So this time, to ensure it was correct, I uploaded our passports. Filling out the rest of the form for DH I noticed that there was an "f" on the line with his name... I just deleted it.

I didn�t have much luck with the passport scanning. It always seemed to get some of the text wrong or add extra characters. In the end I gave up and keyed it all in manually.

We did our last week as well and it was still only asking for the first name.
I tried their scanning facility and it managed to add another name and misspelled surname on my granddaughter�s application, so I resorted to completing all questions manually.

And under the ? button it still says all first names
