Virgin Vs Ba advice please
The last BA flight I took was about 15 years ago and I wasn’t overly impressed. Having flown Virgin for years but see many mentioning BA comes out a lot cheaper I was wondering what people’s experiences of BA long haul was over Virgin?

BA have improved most of their 777 on the Orlando route, also they have the new entertainment system. Food is just normal plane food
The other thing is that you have the choose to fly into Tampa which is only 1 hour from Disney via I-4 Melvin and Lesley

I’ve done tampa with ba a few years ago. It was ok. Quite an old plane. They would class Orlando a bucket and spade type holiday route so I don’t think you’ll get their top end fleet. We also did Antigua with them in feb and plane was a lot better. The ife in my opinion is much poorer than virgin but at the end of the day as long as they get you there safely that’s all I really care about. If the price differential was over a few £100 then go ba!

Have flown both long haul and to be honest we usually go with BA as their fly drives are far better value than virgin with a small deposit. We’ve never fussed with the better IFE as all have iPads, airline food is airline food at the end of the day and as long as I get there safely I’m not bothered. Actually find BA crew better if I’m honest. If virgin was cheaper than BA I would go virgin but BA is consistently cheaper for the dates/route/duration that we want.

BA vs Virgin ? A question of cost.
Either one achieves your objective. Disney332

Agree with this. There is very little to choose between them in the grand scheme of things. I've had good experiences with BA and with Virgin and had bad/terrible experiences with both too.
That said, we fly BA most of the time now because we collect Avios. We prefer BA over Virgin for rewards because their range of destinations is much greater - we essentially get free European city breaks every year. |

I've been 3 times with Virgin and do like them, last trip was with BA (flying out with AA), its all down to price for me and never noticed any difference in the service.
The planes are pretty much the same standard, Virgin IFE was a bit better but the others did the job.

If they cost around about the same then I would go with Virgin (this is obviously a personal choice, others may well prefer BA). If BA is cheaper by what I would consider to be a decent margin then I would go with them, but I would definitely look to be going to TPA not MCO with BA

With BA unless you have status (silver or above?) you have to pay to book seats even in PE or club when you book! Its free on check in! Virgin you only pay if you book economy light! Take that into account if it's important to you?
