Returning our car early

We have booked flights and car hire with BA flying into Lort Lauderdale for 17 days but we only need the car for the first 8 days as we are then going on a cruise from Fort Lauderdale, does anyone know if we can get a refund on part of the car hire if we return it early?

Call BA you should be able to amend car hire dates(depending on booking terms) there will be admin fee but they should tell you the cost difference and possibly refund but that will be depending on current rental rates.

Thanks, I have already spoke to BA and they have said no as the car hire is booked to the flights, so I wasnt sure if Avis would do it

Did you ask to amend or return early?
I don�t know your booking terms but would have thought you could amend rental duration?
I know with mine I can make changes to it up to (x)days before departure.
I would try BA again. Otherwise you would need to speak to Avis on arrival and see what they say but returning early may be breach of hire terms and they may be able to recalculate hire costs at the then rate!? I doubt they would but be aware.

I dont think you will get any back for returning it early its normally in t&cs about that

when booking with BA, you should of created a custom trip, detailed the dates for the flight and the car hire. even if you had a car for 1 day it would of still been classed as a fly drive.

Your only option is to speak to BA and request they amend the car hire booking duration.

Totally agree with this. When you book a flight plus car with BA they offer the length of rental to be different from the duration of the diierence between the two flights. Car and flight durations do not need to match.
I�d call BA again and point this out to them
