If it did not, there would never be more than 2 business class seats available on any flight, and there would be zero in First and WTP, since the initial release is 2 x CE/CW and 4 x ET/WT per flight. I could easily find 4 CW redemption seats to NYC right now. I’ve seen upgrade availability open at various times on numerous routes, which means full redemption availability also opens.

BA revenue management will release redemption seats when it sees the need. Some routes rarely get this (and Miami is in this category, so I agree it would require flexibility here), others much more often. But it definitely happens.
I have not made any statement about what BA do or do not. I have only commented on my own observations and predictions as somebody that travels and researches Avios availability very regularly.

Also have a look at lgw-fll, I was checking last week a week or two after release and some dates had six cw seats available.
I know it’s on a 777 but worth a look if you can’t get Mia.
My husband used to work for Avios and it was always hard to get standby flights in cw on that route.
JFK, now that’s an easy one 😜

Outbound LGW-MCO is avialable for the 11th now, so book that.

For the 21st, FLL-LGW is available now as well. Or with a couple extra days there are other dates available for MCO and TPA.

Personally i would book your flights and either the FLL option if your dates are set in stone. Or another option if you can be flexible from TPA or MCO.

Then set up the alerts and if the 21st comes up pay £70 to move your booking to the 21st or MCO/TPA.

Also it will expire a year (or 2 years for the paid card) after it is posted. You have to fly the outbound flight before it expires.

There are two BA cards a fee free one (241 voucher expires after a year) and the platinum rewards one which has a £195 a year fee. 241 lasts two years.
