West coast road trip 2017

Finally put the finishing touches to our next west coast trip. Been an up and down job. Changing hotels and even dropping one three day location for another.

It now looks like this:

August 27. Leave for overnight at Premier Inn Bath Road, travelling with National Express, much cheaper than driving and parking car plus did not fancy drive home after 11hour flight home.

August 28. 10.10 flight with Virgin Atlantic direct to LAX. Car to pick up via Alamo then drive to San Diego for five nights, staying at Best Western Island Palms. Stayed there last year and loved it. Have booked the two day hop on hop off trolley tour.

On leaving San Diego we drive to Williams in Arizona for three nights staying at the Grand Canyon railway hotel. Booked the train tour into the Grand Canyon really looking forward to that.

From Williams we head for Las Vegas for three nights at the Carriage House which is situated just off the strip close to the MGM. Stayed there year before last and loved it. Have booked Mystere at Treasure Island and a full day coach trip to the Grand Canyon West rim which includes the Skywalk😱😱😱

From Vegas we will go on to Palm Springs for three nights at the Best Western Las Brisas. Stayed there last year and enjoyed it. Tramway will be visited, flexible with the other days.

Finally after leaving Palm Springs we drive to Anaheim for four nights at the Desert Palms hotel and suites which is on the corner of West Katella and South Harbor Boulevard. Will take the car back to the Alamo car hire office on West Katella.

Have five day hoppers for Disney which we will visit when we get up! Happy to get to parks late morning and stay late.

Shuttle will be used to get back to LAX for our overnight flight to Heathrow on September 15.

That's it. Lots of driving for me. But something I am really looking forward to.

Roll on August 27. Holiday will start when we board the coach for the journey to our overnight.

Edited at 08:16 PM.

Hi, the Carriage house is fine, we found it quiet as you're a block from the strip. Walking back in the evening was OK. It is behind the MGM. Did do a trippie but thanks to photo bucket no pics sorry.

So enjoyed your trippie... thanks you for sharing with us. We have also done San Fran, but are going back in Jan and you have given me a few ideas to do Golden Gate Park and Chinatown. Would have loved to have seen your photies especially of Yosemite ... never mind My favorite part was where you were describing the GC because thats exactly how I felf about it. Was truly amazing. I see you are doing the west rim this time ... maybe a thought for us to do that too.

Hope this trip is as enjoyable for you as the last one.

Sounds fab, we've stayed at the Las Brisas many years ago, it was lovely then. Looking forward to reading along.
