fastpass + 60/30/60

So having just finished planning which parks when etc. I discover on the ever reliable dibb this morning that the rolling 60 day fastpasses are no more. We are onsite for 6 nights then 13 nights offsite then final 2 nights onsite again. We are going in the very busy end of July beginning of August period with 21 day tickets.

So the question is would you alter plans to do more AK and HS days whilst onsite to try and get FOP and Slinky fastpasses?

2 years ago we waited over 4 hours for FOP and we were there at rope drop! There is no way I will be able to convince DH to do that again.

Of course if I change the days around that will also mess up BOG breakfast and lunch bookings

Decisions, decisions

I have a feeling your second onsite stay will open up your offsite stay , so it would be earlier than the 30 days as the system would open at at your second lot at 60 days if you get me which would include your offsite bit.
But I’ve planned our stay around probable fast pass availabilty rather than adrs, so the adrs have to fit with the park day ie akl and hs . I think it’s going to be the only way to get the fastpasses when we go .

You will probably need to plan your HS and AK days at the end of your 6 day stay to get them, from looking at availability they seem hard to get at less than 60+4 or 5 (which worries me for our 5 nights onsite that we won’t get them). You could always do BOG breakfast and a few standby rides in MK then go to another park for fastpasses late morning

I think I follow what you mean about possibly the offsite opening up - I'll let you know if that happens. If I had realised that Disney were about to change the rolling fastpass when I was at my 180 days booking adrs I would have done same as you. I have now looked to moved BOG and very little availability now but I am still going to change plans

Ok thanks for that so I'll look to do AK and HS on our last 2 days onsite then to increase chance. I had forgotten about that!

Keep looking as they do crop up but you have to be quick , I hope you can sort it and I’m pretty sure the offsite will open up as mde can’t block out previous days if you get me. keep me posted please
It wasn’t until GE was announced that I thought I’d do it all in reverse , seems strange but it won’t be worth going with the fastpass

I have an onsite stay at the end of my trip, I had read on the Disney parks blog so officially from Disney that the onsite stay opens up the FP period before it, so for the off-site stay too. I guess this has changed with the new rules as my off-site stay is NOT available to book, only my onsite days at the end.

It was a system loophole that has now been closed. Disney closed it at the end of February, the 60 day FP booking window now only applies to the period you are onsite, from check in day up to and including checkout day. Outside of this it is the normal offsite 30 days

So the days prior to the 60 days ie 56 days are not open ? I don’t see how it’s blocking them as it’s 60 days from today so anything within that period should open up , like with adrs.

It is only 60 days ahead of the first onsite day, the 60 day window only applies now to days you are on site and only those days. The 60 day window only applies to onsite days and to no other days, even if you have a ticket covering offsite. The system knows exactly which days yiu are onsite and opens the window according to that
