Thomas Cook at the only airline with flights released at the moment. They're coming in at £2980 including luggage and seat booking. POFQ for 9 nights with tickets is £4094. That's £7074.

4 nights at RPR is £1604 from Trivago, and tickets are £1115.
Total: £9793.

Not sure on the age of your children, so can't work out the dining plan upgrade accurately.

I have put their ages as 11-15 for flights and park tickets, to give the highest cost.

Doing both Disney and Universal does bump up the price a lot as the universal hotels aren't cheap and tickets alone add on another £1000+.

Do you need 4 nights RPR? If you stay 1 night you would get 2 days early entry and front of line passes.

Maybe one night there and 3 in a nearby hotel - either one of the new value Universal ones (Endless Summer?) or somewhere nearby on I-Drive.

Or the 29th which also happens to be the last free dining check in day I think. When I’ve booked flights are often cheaper on the Sunday compared to the Saturday. Of course these are the flights that still haven’t actually been released yet! Get a few other quotes while you are waiting for the 25th to come round

I would book all diy! I would wait until all the flights are released to book them ba and virgin fly everyday and I wouldn’t feel pressured to book a holiday that is already over priced 12 months out! Try and relax, it will all fall into place!

the thing is its so new i have no idea what reasonable is.

I know we want to stay onsite and take advantage of early magic hours at disney and fast passes at universal.

So yes I am probably just getting used to it all just priced it up individually and came up with £10, 053. via disney site, skyscanner and expedia and orlando attractions
Do you really need to do 4 nights at universal? Depending on how old your children are wll determine what you can do,. Perhaps 1 night at a premium hotel to get the Express pass for 2 days and then a cheaper hotel if you want more time and early entry.

I wouldn't ignore summer either - last 2 weeks in August are much quieter and Thomas Cook flights at the moment released for Aug 2020 are coming in at around £2400

Some hotels also reduce rates as a lot of the US kids go back to school.

We booked 4 nights at Universal Cabana Bay - and one night during that time at Royal Pacific Resort - this gave us 2 days Express Pass - much cheaper than 4 days RPR

11.5K and 10.5K are both unreasonable IMO; unless you're looking at a deluxe resort. Even then, I'm doing a room at the Beach Club for 16 nights for £6K incl. park tickets and dining plan! (sans flights)

I was also going to ask if you need 4 nights at universal. We stayed for just 1 night on our last trip at Royal Pacific Resort and bought a 2 day ticket during early August. We arrived really early so we had 2 park days (and an afternoon by the pool) and had front of line passes included with our hotel for both days. We more than did all of the rides.

The best part was our hotel was free. We collected as many Avios points as we could by switching our credit card, doing surveys and online shopping going through the avios shop. We had enough points to upgrade to Club level so were very happy with our free hotel stay
