It's very hard to increase the resolution of pictures without distorting them unless they are high enough quality. Or do you mean just to make them overall larger in size for viewing?

Where did the photos come from? Can you get the originals?

You can’t usually increase the resolution of a photo as that would mean adding in information that isn’t there.

You can sometimes get away with printing photos at a slightly lower resolution than the photo book company recommend. Or printing them smaller. Generally for printing they recommend 300dpi (dots or pixels per inch) so to print a 4x6 image you would need 1200 pixels by 1800 pixels. But if you have 800x 1200 it’s going to look pretty good.

Or if you print it 3x4 inches it will look ok at a lower resolution.

You can check the resolution if you right click on the file.

How big are you printing them? Do you have a printer? Print one on a piece of paper and see if it looks grainy.

Yes. Are you putting multiple photos on each page? Or one big photo per page?

One big photo will need a much higher resolution than multiple small ones.

I was just suggesting printing one at home as then you can see what you photo will look like when printed at the required size. If it looks blocky on your home printer it will look blocky in your photo book.

Search for a program called Image Resizer. It allows you to batch resize photos. This way you can try increase the size of them and then view them onscreen to see if they still look clear or distorted.

If you can't find one to download, I'll see if I can look it out for you.
