I think it’s understandable his reaction was muted bless him. As you say he has the same shock as you plus he will be scared for you health wise.

As others say, hopefully some medical reassurance will help you both enjoy the little miracle it is.

Congratulations! No advice on the type 1 diabetes element, but I have 8 years between my DS and DD and it’s been amazing. Seeing them together makes my heart burst as he’s so good with her.

I definitely did feel older through my second pregnancy though, but I was 36 so you have some benefit compared to me there!

Fantastic news! I can’t advise on the diabetes but please don’t worry about age. I had my first 2 at 29 & 31. I was 40 having DS2. I was worried about being older and it was absolutely fine. New Mums are a lot older now than years ago.

Are you booked in with the diabetes nurse soon? Good control is really important especially in the first 8 weeks and you’ll need a higher dose of folic acid than normal.
