Yay, will you please report back on how your holiday was. Always so curious about last minute trips especially on a budget.

Yep! Think shes getting over it, think the cinema X-Men film kFC beforehand & a nice cold latte at McDs after done the trick! . Now to tell my 14 yr old ds, hate the thought of breaking the news to him too! ( could only cope with doing it one at a time!) But im sure ill bribe him with plenty of american sweets & treats on our return, im sure theyll be a huge list for what i need to bring him back

I'm sure once they get used to the idea they will be happy enough to give you a shopping list ! Also it is good for kids to realise that you are entitled to a break where you are husband and wife and not just mum and dad.

I've been twice without my kids for DH's 50th and our 25th Anniversary (we had our honeymoon there) and the kids were 19,12,9 first time and 22, 14 and 12 second time. Both were 9/10 day trips with only 2 days at parks, meals out and chilling and not the type of holidays we have as a family. It took a few days to get used to doing what we wanted, eating when and where we wanted, ticking things off the shopping list and was very peaceful with no constant chattering/bickering.

Enjoy your trip and do not feel guilty

Oh well done you.

Who did you book with?Which website.

I am currently looking for a similar deal, leaving anywhere in ireland or UK for Orlando any time from 1st july for up to 14 days.

If you see anything. Please please give me a shout.

charter plus hotel.
We have no car, so needs to be central.

I-drive or seaworld or lake buena vista area.

we have 1 universal pass but nothing else and we're going next summer for 3 weeks.
Hence reason i'm looking for a bit of a 'cheapie'!

we've done few days in spain 2-3 times a year since youngest was 14, last year did 7 nights orlando & 7 nights vegas, she's 18 now and seems ok, she loves the peace n quiet when we away & we also take her every summer (she works in a school) and pay for it so she still gets to go and like you we don't do the parks on mini trips, going for 3 wks in july with her but then have 10 nights dec and 9 nights vegas oct just the 2 of us, kids will come round, go and enjoy, a little time away from the kids makes for better quality time with them

Thank you, we were going to book with thomas cook look through their deals & also look through search bar, there was plenty of good deals to be had wirhin two weeks of departure! We are not getting a car out there & transportation wasnt included with Thomas Cook, but we also looked on Tui & found a lovely hotel right opposite Icon Park, breakfast included & also transportation to & from the hotel, so went for that one, theres loads of bargains to be had, i found it much better to look st pavkage holidays rather thsn flight/hotels luggage etc we also have 20kg luggage & 10 hand luggage each included! Good luck in your search, if i see anything ill give you a shout
