Sonesta suites
Anyone stayed at this resort ? We were thinking of cabana bay but don't like the thought of the parking charges to stay at the hotel

Not yet! Booked for October though. Done our research and can’t really find any negatives. Looking forward to kids having their own room and bathroom and hoping free breakfast is ok for the odd day (still intend to have Denny’s/Perkins fix).

We stayed there in June, nice hotel, breakfast ok for odd days, consisted of, cereals, pastries, toast muffins, fresh fruit, yoghurt, three hot options a day! e.g, scrambled egg, sausage, cornbeef hash, hashbrowns right opposite Icon park, i-Ride trolley stop right outside hotel, they offer happy hour I think 5-7pm, two beers for price of one & twos wines for price of one, you can buy your I-Ride 7/14 day tickets from hotel too, small shop on sight too, small gym, the pool isnt very big, but it was ok for us, Rooms where good which include kitchen, American style fridge/freezer with ice making compartment in freezer, ( ideal to store my fav! blue bunny mint ice cream in) & any essentials you may want to eat & keep cold microwave, & hob nicely air conditioned rooms, tv in bedroom & living area, relatively nice hotel, we have already booked rosen inn at point for next year, but wish we had booked Sonesta, much more central, but we had already booked our main holiday at Rosen for next year, before we even booked Sonesta, which we got at a bargain last minute pricexx

I stayed there for 3 weeks last year and also in 2001 when it was under a different name. It's a really nice place to stay , staff are lovely, the place is clean.Free breakfast is ok ...it's free but I only tend to do fruit or nothing and coffee.Transport to parks is or was a bit hit and miss but I think since I went last year they have done something about that but not 100% ,but if you are having a car its perfect .They dont do a full room service everyday but do the beds , replace towels and coffee etc everyday. If you are a tea person ask for a kettle at reception too .Dennys is not far for some over the top pancakes,Millers sports bar across the road is good and cheap, 2 walgreens nearby for a few stock up items (cheap water for parks).Shake shack do excellent burgers too .Hotel is good I would stop again in a heartbeat(if they have sorted out the transport). The rooms were better than at the Embassy suites too.Stopping at AKL next year and really hope I haven't dropped a clanger as I love being able to just go to the eateries on IDrive.

Love staying here...booked for next year and will be our 4th stay here.
Nothing fancy but very clean and spacious and everyone who works there are so kind and helpful. Feels like our second home now and can't wait to go back. |
