First time Coronado Springs

Booked for May 2020, first time back to Florida since 2012 and first time staying on resort. Staying at the Coronado Springs due to a fantastic deal from Virgin but wondered what others thoughts were on this hotel?

Jumping in with also going May 2020 and first time staying at Coronado Springs, cause as you say Virgin had a good deal.

I do a lot of planning and research so although I haven't stayed I know a lot about the resort.

It has just recently had refurbishment to all the rooms alongside the building of the new Tower complex, so at the moment the rooms are probably now among the best in Disney and definitely for a moderate resort.

The new Three Bridges restaurant has just opened up adding to the existing 2 restaurants and food court meaning this now has the most on site dining of any moderate resort.

As it has a business center on site as well we also get a fitness center and salon, gym access is included with the room and its 24 hours.

The business center does potentially mean if a big conference is on breakfast can be pretty busy, but due to the number of other food options other meals times shouldn't be so bad.

As Mrs-Weasly has said their is a good facebook group which can answer any specific questions, but for me the best advice is to look up youtube videos to get a good feel for the area.

We stopped here for the first time last April. We've booked for May 2020! 6th - 22nd.

Firstly all of the renovations will be done by July 2019 (next month) - so don't worry about any diggers/building work!

My top things:

The rooms are absolutely beautiful. They've all been refurbished and I think they are the best moderate rooms on property. Spacious, clean and modern. It was key factor with us deciding to go back. We stopped in 7A Ranchos and would have no qualms stopping there again - however may punt for Casitas 4 or 5 next time just to mix it up!

Pool area is great (there are 4 pools on property) so you never struggle to get a sunbed and chill out.

The lake and the views are beautiful.

You are relatively central on WDW property. No buses took more than 15 minutes to get to another park. Magic Kingdom sometimes takes a bit longer in the evening after fireworks.

Food court was okay - nothing special but that too has just gone through a big refurb! Really liked Cafe Rix to grab a snack! Also the new 3 bridges restaurant looks great so can't wait to sit on the lake having a cold one after a long day at the parks.

The new tower looks incredible - cannot wait to go to the top of that too!

Downsides:

The resort is HUGE, its actually bigger than Magic Kingdom which some people don't realise. So depending where you are on property can result in a long walk... HOWEVER... the new bridges are going to completely change the feel of that resort and might help that problem considerably! It can be a tad frustrating however if you need to walk to the pool bar or even the front of the resort to refill your resort mug.

Also Conorado is a convention centre so you may get some business guests/dance groups etc. There was a convention there last year and although it was busier it really didn't bother me that much (if at all to be honest)

Although the rooms are beautiful - walls are quite thin - I'd definitely recommend asking for a top floor room. (I'll be honest at this stage of this reply I'm really nitpicking!)

Overall, you'll have a great time - we really enjoyed and it was just the right amount of Disney, coupled with the right amount of "adultness" and ability to chill! Must have had a great time as we've booked to go back!

Do let me know if you have any more questions!

We go for the first time in September, but visited last September to have a quick look and its a beautiful resort!,the addition of the 3 bridges bar and grill makes it so easy to get around!

Ooh I'm jumping on this too as I'm also booked for next year (through Virgin!).
Those that have been; is the bus service good? Does it share with other hotels?

We go in January!
First time staying there, although we've been there several times to eat and look around, and we liked it.

The new room refurbs look fabulous, looked at videos of them online, and we really can't wait to go!

We go to Port Orleans Riverside on Saturday ( Yay! ) and whilst there on this holiday we will tootle over and check out which areas to stay we like best
