Universal RPR - lobby renovations? Anyone been lately?

I have booked 2 nights at RPR early August 2019 but noticed when I checked my reservation to update some things that they say the lobby will be renovated March-October. I appreciate obviously we don't spend much time in lobby but still, paying quite a bit and it is a special occasion so would be disappointed if building noice etc.

Anybody been recently ?

Would you book another one - HRH ? Although then costs would still go up...

Interested to hear this also as we have booked at this hotel in late August.

Also staying in August, we were disappointed when we first heard of the refurb as the lobby looked so nice in the videos we saw. We kept our booking as we thought with how the hotel is laid out we wouldn't hear any noise in our room and can avoid the lobby if needed apart from check in /checkout day.

The last thing I saw anyone mention the refurb was last month at that point they were only doing the refurb in the back rooms but haven't seen any updates since.

I've just got back from RPR and the work is really minimal. I walked around the lobby looking for the refurb (which tells you something!) and literally this is the only thing I found.

Everything else is the same as usual and not affected in any way. Absolutely no noise either! I couldn't particularly notice anything different so this may also mean they haven't actually started the refurb yet, or it could be that they just lock off these small areas at a time to be minimally invasive for guests?

Really pleased that the works looks minimal - 1 week today and I will be checking in Club Level for 1 night - excited

I wish you were right but found the following on Touringplans:

Through October 2019, the Royal Pacific's lobby is undergoing several upgrades. These include a new check-in area, a grab-and-go location, and a new sushi restaurant. The construction will be done in segments so much of the lobby will still be available at any time and it is not expected to impact rooms or any other common areas.
