Space Mountain

My husband rode SM on our first trip in 2006

He rode alone as our DD was only 8 and didnt want to do it

He remembers it be really jerky and uncomfortable

I seem to remember a refurb a few of years after

Is it still jerky?

If it helps they have both ridden it at DLP over and over one morning last year and loved it

Comparison between the two ?

Comparison between that and say Rocknroller coaster and Expedition Everest ?

Rock n rollercoaster is the most uncomfortable ride I’ve ever been on! I come off with a headache from hitting it on the sides.

SM is jerky in the meaning of sudden drops and turns (like DLP) but not jerky as in it hurts or feels uncomfortable.

We rode sm for the first time last week and it reminded us of x at Thorpe park without the cool music 😂

I can ride Everest and RnR no matter how my back is due to the fact I can just step into the cars. Space Mountain I have to be having a good day as it's the getting out I find really hard.

However of all of them I prefer Space Mountain. Love the dark and especially the drops. Yes it is 'jerky' and even more so in the back which I prefer.

Being a big kid at heart I love them all!

Obviously this is opinion only but Space Mountain is one of my faves. Yes it’s jerky, but that’s half the fun 😂
I don’t find Everest jerky at all and not been to DLP for about 5 years so can’t remember. Not very helpful, I know x

I rode SM a few years ago and it was really jerky that I came off feeling sick, which never happens to me! Haven’t had the same experience since although it does still throw you around! I think it’s because you can’t see where you are going and so cannot prepare yourself! I rode SM at DLP about 16 years ago and I thought it was way better than the one at WDW. The only thing I did find better though! I don’t think R’n’R throws you around as much but because of the head rest, it does bash your head a bit!

I have vowed never to ride space mountain again! I was banged and bashed all over the place ! Two of my children were sat in front of me and they laughed all the way round at me shouting and howling in pain lol
My older two children love it though so my husband is now stuck with that job

Can't agree with somebody who said that it's not jerky. About half way through the ride the car goes over a short hump and that just did it for me a few years ago and I've never been back on it since.

I find it very jerky, I would even go so far as to say I don’t feel safe it is that bad. Last trip, I decided not to go on it, cancelled my fast pass and did Winnie the Pooh instead. I only booked it because DH likes it.

No issue whatsoever with Everest or R&R coaster, I find them very smooth.

For me personally, I can go without SM! I missed it out entirely last trip and am not at all bothered about going on it again this year either.
It is the only one I skip though, enjoy the others! Just remember to keep your head back on Rock N Roller coaster 😁
