We always do the Premier at Airport Way. We do the twilight check in then its a five minute walk to check in, dinner, and drinks. Got a deal for our October stay 4 rooms for £34.50 per room. Keep checking on their site as deals do come up.

We've booked the Hilton at Gatwick South, for a family room with breakfast is was £100 through my blue light card with work... we always go from heathrow so never book hotels at airports as LHR is 15 mins away but going from Gatwick this year so treated ourselves!

Premier Inn would be my choice. Family room, onsite restaurant and close to the north terminal. As you talk about ED I assume you are flying VA.

We like the Hilton, stayed twice now and the rooms have always been clean and functional and the fitness centre is a big plus for us. They also made a bigger deal of our honeymoon than Disney with cupcakes, a handwritten card and rose petals and towel swans on the bed!
