AKL early morning wake up call

Yesterday, our first morning we left early. Today at 07.30 a ‘cherry picker’ drove around the Savanna with its reversing horn blaring. It lasted 20 minutes and hopefully is a one off.

If anyone has any live questions I’ll try and answer over next fortnight.

I guess my biggest question is the level of disruption that the refurbs are causing? I'm booked for July and have no idea where to request for a room location. We are in a standard.

I think I would have had a word with Guest Services to make it clear that you found it unacceptable.

Did you get a letter saying when the work was being done? 07:30 seems a bit early and I would complain to the front desk as its unacceptable for them to be working that early. They usually start 08:30 or latter at the resorts.

What floor are they refurbishing on now please ? I think 4th floor has been finished from another thread. Any tips would be handy for those of us traveling later in the year to AKL

I emailed the management and discovered that it was an animals program vehicle for enrichment, that beeps when reversing. I suggested they drive it forwards. They gave me two free FP’s to compensate.

We are on 4th floor of zebra and no refurbishment but it seems to be the left hand wing from lobby.
