How much money to take in cash vs card
Gonna get a credit card to take and would like to use it so that I don’t have to faff with money.
We have the money to pay it off when home. I just really don’t like cash. How much cash do you think for three weeks? I don’t really want to draw anymore out over there cos that will charge but I don’t wanna come home with loads of cash either. |

Hi, I usually take about a third of our planned spend as cash. I like to have a reasonable amount just incase cards go missing or issues with payment systems. To avoid coming home with it I just make sure I spend it in the last week.

I usually take $50-$100 in cash (Lots of $1, $5 and $10 denominations, few quarters too), Just for the initial tolls and quick cash. But then it's either my Clarity Card for Purchases or the Nationwide Flex Plus to withdraw anymore extra cash.

We take as much as our insurance allows...so have $1500 in cash. The rest is on a pre paid credit card and a halifax clarity card. We take money out at the wawa garage when offsite as they don’t charge. We’re going to New York in November so whatever we don’t spend we will take there with us.

Just ordered my dollars £80 / $100.
Everything else on credit cards. Usually end up spending dollars in the airport to use them up on overpriced bottles of water / sweets for the flight!

We took $500 in cash and have come home with about $100 and change. We were there for 3 weeks and used our Halifax and Nationwide cards for everything, the last couple of days we were using cash to get "rid" of it. Most tolls you go through there is an attendant to give change but there is a sign saying no notes higher than $20
