Skip the counter Alamo

On previous visits we have always managed to get an upgrade on the car without asking but if we skip the counter and check in online will we just get the basic car? Always like a freebie 😉 but also like the thought of getting our holiday started any advice? Thanks

I assume you are MCO?

The whole concept of skip the counter is you can sort yourself out. Now you may strike lucky and find something from a higher class in your allocated row or even find it empty (not likely!) and get upgraded to the next row.

But if you want an upgrade it will mean a kiosk visit.

After having a lengthy wait at the Alamo counter at MCO on our first trip (was not aware of skip the counter), I personally avoid it each time.

I've heard of people going up to the Alamo kiosk in the garage and asking for a particular car (when stock has been low) and they've been upgraded if one isn't available.

And, as always, if you want a bigger car, book it.

We skip the counter too. If we are lucky that a better car is in our row then great. If not, we will get what we paid for without any stressy sales stuff or s big queue

We usually just wait longer in immigration and if we’re the last out that means all the basics are gone and we get a nicer car
