Mobile Twighlight check in Gatwick

We are travelling next Sunday. We are booked via AA but it’s a BA flight. Does anyone know if we can drop our cases off the evening before? I know BA let’s you but as our booking is AA I’m not sure if we still can? 🤔

I'm sure they stoped sundowner check in for all flights to Orlando. It's not an airline but a security request by MCO and Sanford. I may be wrong.

We used sundown check in when we went this may, didn’t seem to be any issue? Is this a new thing?

From what I've read on the DIBB both Tui and TC have ceased twilight/sundown but you can still do it with VS and BA. Difference between scheduled and chartered operators maybe?

Just read the update! Yikes!

We usually stay the night before and use sundown and then just stroll through security, will need to try and recalculate everything now, never actually checked in the morning before! May be a silly ? But for a 10:40 flight, staying the night before, what time should I check in bags? ASAP? Like maybe 8am and THEN go to breakfast? I’m so lost!

Most airlines web sites suggest 3 hours before I believe. We do cut it down to maybe 2.5 hours if we've done twilight.

We did Sundown in April with TC but I think they stopped pretty soon after. Still doing it with BA at LGW in November.

Always stay overnight anyway and have breakfast in whichever hotel we're in before we set off for the terminal.

TC were doing it in April but don't pay for security to ask security questions at check-in queue, so didn't issue boarding cards just accepted baggage. BA and Virgin still did because they had paid for security staff to be there, and had been for many previous holidays.

Budget airlines budget service but still gets you there.

Should have added that it was MAN that we did TC sundown check-in in April. They gave us boarding cards but we had to wheel our cases back to a different area. Same as all our TC MAN experiences.

Perfectly satisfactory PE flights with TC though.

We have done BA twilight at Gatwick today ready for our flight tomorrow. Really easy. We are staying in the Hampton Hilton and all worked perfectly... so far!

BA definitely still do it at Gatwick. I sent them a message to double check as we will be using it ourselves in October x
