Mobile Flight connection

So we're off next week, our flights are with united, Heathrow to Washington then down to Orlando, however we only have 1hour 45 mins between flight landing and next flight taking off, is this enough time to clear immigration and get to next gate, if we're delayed then there's no chance😩😩

You are going to be cutting it fine, that's for sure. And any delays on your first flight might find you missing your connection. We normally like to leave at least 2 hours between legs, if possible. It's a bit late to do anything about it now, though, so fingers crossed all goes to plan.

Yes I thought the same, these were the flights given to us by travel agent, I think even if we're not delayed we are cutting it fine to get 4 of us through immigration and to gate on time, what's the situation if you miss your flight?

If you're booked on one ticket, they will try to get you on the next available flight.

It can be done in that amount of time. I would strongly suggest going to the Washington airport website and check out the process for connecting flights. Being familiar with what you have to do and where to go will help. The difficulty will be if you have to collect your bags and clear security again, which is what we had to do in Detroit.

Yes it says we need to collect our luggage before leaving the CBP building and recheck it and checked by TSA, so that's an added time we could do without really I suppose

You won’t have to do an actual check in you should be able to hand it to someone who will put it on the connections conveyor belt as long as your bags are checked through to Orlando.

It takes time to get off planes at Washington as they use a transport system which is like a bus on a lift and only takes so many people. So be prepared for it to take a while for that, about 20 minutes to get to the customs hall.

Last time I went through Washington though, customs and baggage claim took about 30-40 minutes.

You will then need to re-drop your bags and get to the departure gate. I don't believe they send you out and back in so that shouldn't be too long.

If that is the case for your flight you should be OK, but it could be a bit touch and go.

It was the departure from Washington that was painful getting through security into airside took nearly an hour on its own, but you shouldn't need to do that.
