ShopDisney refusing to refund tickets

Can anyone offer help or previous experience on this..I bought a 14day ultimate ticket from shipDisney uk online. Trip was cancelled and WDW refunded everything as expected but I purchased a ticket for a friend separately through shopDisney.

They are just refusing to entertain a refund. Keep stating they are non-refundable. I understand usually that would be the case but surely during these COVID times where international travel is not possible they would be open to giving me a refund. It’s a big chunk on money to have to write off.

Sorry I'm not sure about the refund, but you should be able to go through travel insurance?

We didn’t get any. We only put down a very small deposit so wasn’t too concerned at the time. Obviously didn’t see COVID coming and a lesson for the future.

I'm sure lots of us have learned lessons this year! Have you paid more than £100 and did you pay by credit card? A s75 might be another route?

Yea another lesson.an expensive one it would seem. I payed with PayPal on the shopDisney website. They were £399. Looked into PayPal refunds but don’t think I have a case.

Yes. Been in contact with them constantly about it. They won’t budge. Tell me the tickets are non-refundable. WDW had no problem issuing me a refund it shopDisney won’t.

that's really poor. Have you tried googling the CEO and emailing them? i would expect better of the disney store.

It looks like you will have to write this one down to experience I'm afraid as ShopDisney has said no to your only real option of pleading with them for a discretionary refund.
Your other option would have been to claim on travel insurance which you don't have. Section75 or a chargeback would not have applied as the good where as described and supplied to you. ShopDisney have done nothing wrong in this case as they have supplied what you asked for, not being able to travel to the USA has no affect on them upholding their end of the ccontract. Also the tickets are still likely valid as all Disney issued tickets where extended to be used by September 2021 and you could still potentially be able to travel to the US by then.
