Could anyone help me with a Poem please ?

I am a manager in a children's nursery and one of my girls is suffering badly with her mental health at the moment, life isn't treating her great at the moment

I wanted to show my support.

I have got a bag of M&M's and have got a poem to go with it attached with a ribbon

This is the Poem but i am not keen on the section of the "Brown pill" has anyone got a better suggestion for this section please ?

Blessing Pills

When life get out of order,
and the sky's no longer blue,
Just take these small prescription Pills,
Made especially for you.

The RED ones are for courage,
When challenges come your way.
They'll help you keep your chin up
If you take them twice a day.

If you ever get the feeling
you're becoming much to proud
Take a BROWN pill for humility
it'll knock you off your cloud.

When your spirits sink to zero
And you just can't seem to smile,
Take an ORANGE pill for happiness
It'll make your day worthwhile

When you're getting rather grouchy
'Cause your nerves are really shot
The GREEN pill can be used to cool
Your temper ... while its hot.

The YELLOW pills will help you
To fill your life with love
So take these pills and ask the lord
For blessing from above

When you find things overwhelming
And you’re struggling to cope
A brown pill will lift your spirits
And bring a ray of hope

Excellent alternative...
But I dont like the idea of sweets being referred to as pills?
Id change the word pill to something else, and the red one instead of pill etc as the poem goes on. Maybe from pills to drops in the first verse? Call the poem blessing drops?(Thinking along the lines of rainbow drops) The idea of taking pills like sweets to help your mood is not a healthy one. Speaking as someone who has battled depression on and off for years. I dont want to rain on your parade as its such a lovely kind thoughtful thing to do xxx

Sorry if it offends but I am not sure its a good idea giving sweets and a poem calling them pills to a child. Especially a nursery aged child.

Sorry just my opinion and I will probably get backlash.

Its wonderful thought otherwise x

When she said one of her girls I thought she meant a member of staff in that case it would be ok x

I read it differently, I thought by ‘girls’ she meant one of her Staff Members (she mentioned she was the Manager). I could be wrong though?

It’s a lovely gift and thought.

Personally, I would change the wording from Pills to Sweets/Treats. When I suffered with depression, getting a poem asking me to take Pills (even a thoughtful one like this) would’ve been too much for me.

I’m sorry, it’s just my opinion I don’t mean to offend you Bigkitty266.

I agree, I am not keen on pills either. You could just drop pill and just use the colour. I think it is for a staff member though so not a child 😀

In the first verse you could maybe call them life boosters or chin lifters 😂🤣 or little pick ups.

I would assume a girl is a child, particularly as OP mentioned that she works in a nursery. A female colleague is a woman.

I also would change the word from pills, particularly on the assumption this is a child, in fact I didn’t even understand it at first.
