I assume it is a member of staff but I still agree, don’t like calling them pills.

Lovely to support someone struggling but hate the concept that a "pill" will make it better.
Sweet/treat is much better. Green is for the inspiration you give me each day Blue is for the patience you show every day Orange is for your warmth and caring style Yellow is for the way you make me smile Red is for the lives you've touched this year End it with a personal thanks. Loads of these if you google M&M poems |

Im another one that doesn’t like the use of the word pills, although I think it’s a lovely idea, but I’d definitely be choosing another word rather than pills.

It’s lovely that you’re doing something nice for one of your colleagues, I’d also drop the idea of pills though. I think a handwritten note would be sweeter than a poem.

I would most definitely not use the word PRESCRIPTION or the word PILL don't think appropriate for a child.
You could substitute the word pill for: 'the orange one' the green one' etc. |

I really don’t think it’s for a child or that OP would give a poem about pills to a child. I would refer to people I work with as girls and would refer to the children as children, and I also don’t think she’s buying a gift for a toddler who is having mental health issues or giving them a poem that they’ll be unable to understand.

Why would they have said “girl” then?
I am familiar with expressions such as “girls night out” or “boys night out” of course. But if I were discussing the mental health of one of my male colleagues I would not dream of saying “one of the boys at work is struggling with his mental health”. I hope we are well past infantilising women in the workplace and OP was really talking about a child in the nursery. |

I kind of agree with the sweets vs pills thing but it is a lovely way to try and help, just to show you care, so I’ve had a go at a new verse for you:
If all you’re ever seeing In the mirror is a frown Choose a little brown one And turn it upside down Hope it helps J

I think you are reading far to much into it! As its a nursery setting, its highly likely a number of the staff will be late teens/early twenties so wouldn't actually want to be called a woman.
Its a commonly used term in this sort of setting. OP I also don't like the use of the word pill, especially as mental health has been mentioned.

Where I work the terms girls/lads/lasses/guys are all used (no matter the age range), in a non condescending way.
