I am glad you've got a price you're happy with! What room type did you book?

I know a lot of people think the prices are high even with the discount but I was happy with them. We saved over £2,600 with the two rooms we booked, which will more than cover the OOP cost of the Dining Plan if it comes back and we can add it on. We have $500 in total in gift cards which will also cover the parking so very happy with the deal. Having an absolute nightmare with TUI amending our package with them though, about to call them for the 4th time in 3 days!

I was a little concerned about the news around the buses at the Dolphin, but hopefully it's only temporary. With a car it's irrelevant, but worst case scenario that the Mears service is inferior to Disney buses, we'll just get the bus to another Crescent Lake resort and walk, which I am sure everyone else will do too haha.

£2600 is a decent saving!

We just went with standard as that was available. If we decided to stick with it and a King became available for Mum & Dad I’d maybe switch it. I’m happy with the price as I think the discount would more or less cover the cost of DDP should they reintroduce it. That may be what sways Mum towards CSR over the Dolphin. I just can’t get away from how much cheaper it is and therefore how much less money we need to save! Mum & Dad already had money saved for their Golden Wedding party that didn’t go ahead but we spent what money we did have on a puppy!

My current preference is to stick with CSR given the price difference and the gift cards.

Just had a look on the VA website as our outbound is available. Unfortunately no reward seats. This is despite VA assuring me that more reward seats than normal would be released due to all the people moving to open tickets . I had hoped to contact Flying Club and book each leg separately so they were secured. I’ll keep checking but if nothing shows up soon I’ll be sending a pretty angry email to VA.

Is it common for Reward flights to be released at a later date? How frustrating. I hate having to wait to secure bookings, I have absolutely no patience.

Yes I think they can just show up. Last year they showed up quite early but both legs were available so it couldn’t have been that early. I’m just impatient!

I’ve done a slightly naughty but forgivable thing and booked two rooms at the Holiday inn Glasgow Airport for the night before our probably flight. I chose the pay later option plus they’re now doing free cancellation so it hasn’t cost anything. It was a pretty decent price at £53 for pay now and £61 for pay later. The pay later option also gave free cancellation up to a letter date than the pay now one so I went for that.

Exciting to be starting to book things!

That's a great price! I am off to have a nosy.

Our flight has been moved forward so we'll only be a day behind you now.

Actually you just reminded me my countdown was wrong because of the VA flights now being Wednesday/Saturday returning Friday/Tuesday. We plan on going on the Wednesday and back on the Friday to give us 16 nights. So we’ll be 3 days ahead rather than 1. Although the first 2 nights will be Universal so we will be a day ahead at Disney!

I'm not a fan of the new Virgin schedule, we've already booked for 2022 and have had to settle for 13 nights! If OH can get the extra leave approved we'll try to extend the trip.

I hope you get some joy with Reward flights showing up soon, the waiting is horrible.

Got the Holiday Inn for £56 so happy with that, we paid a lot more last year!

I know, it’s really annoying but I’m definitely not going for 13 nights for my 50th! If they don’t change before 2022 we may fly with someone else.

£56 is a decent price. I think we paid about that for this year with my NHS discount. They no longer do that but I’m happy with the price anyway.
