Florida keys hotels

Morning. We are a family of 5. Will be doing the keys for 4 nights in 2022. Im currently searching for hotels ( ive looked at marathon so in the middle ) ive put my dates in for next year to get a rough idea. Has anyone stayed in a cheap hotel? Or what is the cheapest. We want free parking and wifi and a pool. Also hidden resort fees if you have an exp with that. We liked hawks cay but apparently they charge lots extra when youre there? When i say cheap i know its not going to be cheap but the cheapest. It will be 31st july to August 2022.
Thanks

DIBB Villa Reviews: 1
Hi we stayed in Marathon last year in the Hyatt
It was lovely nice pool and walk to the bar with the boats In the background.
Good spot in the middle.
Next time I would be braver and stay in 2 or 3 places on the keys

I stayed at Hawks Cay a few years back. It was a truly brilliant resort.

Whilst it is by no means cheap, I never felt ripped on any extras.

When next in the area, it will most certainly be the hotel/resort that I shall seek.. if not priced out. It is really well located.

Was it close to the beach? Or did you have to drive to get there? X

This is from their site and is thus current.

Resort Fee and Other Mandatory Fees
Guests at this hotel may be required to pay the following mandatory fees:
Resort fee: $47.25 per room, per night
The resort fee includes:
Pool access
Beach loungers
Beach towels
Health club access
Fitness center access
Children's club/arcade access
Shuttle service
Business center/computer access
Internet access
In-room coffee
Concierge/valet service
Self parking
Valet parking
Additional items may be included

Given that the above includes Parking, WiFi, loungers and children’s club, I would guess that it is pretty good.

Buffet breakfast is $24/$12.

We stayed at lime tree bay resort
limetreebayresort/ its kind of middle of the keys, we did this as we could go either way -> to key west <- to Miami.
We also want to eat at a diner drive inns and dives restaurant meateatery/ the wings were pretty amazing.

The hotel was just being refurbished when erma hit and we went 12months to the day after it hit and our room was amazing.
The sun set picture i took from the hotel were unobscured by people , like trying to get a picture at Malory square Key West. 👍

Tbh where ever you decide you will have a pretty special and amazing time.
I would love to go back one day but there is far to much more to see, doing the Georgia's 2021 should have been 2020 , but some virus put a stop to that 👍
Good luck in your search.

We stayed 2 / 3 nights at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marathon
13201 Overseas Highway , Marathon, Florida 33050 last summer.

It was a great location. Hotel a little dated (but had a nice homely feel), but rooms were very big, grab and go breakfast, lovely pool (big old lizards come visit!) and a lovely independent restaurant behind it - Sparkys.

I can't remember price - pretty sure we used IGH points for the stay...but would recommend.

So basically the day we check in we would pay around $200 for resort fee and then breakfast if we want etc? X
