Challenge 2: Blurry Backgrounds

The challenge this week is to take a photo with a short depth of field, one where the subject is nice and clear but everything behind is blurred.

Here's one I made earlier.

you need to set a large aperture, which confusingly means a small number.
It also helps if you've got some distance between the subject and the background.

Best bet is to put your camera on to A and dial it down to the smallest number and see what happens.

If you shoot with a point and shoot and do not have any control over your aperture, then stepping back from your subject and then zooming in will also help achieve the desired effect.
