I have to use the water softener our water is awful. My washing machine is really old so I think it helps.

I used to but the wire came out a bra and got stuck in a hole in the drum! That's all I wash by hand tho. I even put some dry clean stuff on the hand wash setting.

We use lime scale remover tablets, pretreat any stains with Shout then laundry capsules (Ariel) or laundry liquid and some Lenor/ Fairy or Comfort Pure fabric conditioner( about a quarter of a capful). Once washed bung them in the dryer no Dryer sheets unless I’m washing bedding and then they have to be lavender ones. Before I do any ironing the ironing board gets a good spritz with some Febrese too.

A lot of mixtures!

Has anyone used the ecoegg? It looks quite good value - £12.99 on amazon which does 210 washes and £7.33 for the refill pellets which is also 210 washes.

Wow, a lot of products out there. We use tablets as the machine is under a shelf and powder is too tricky/messy. If there's a bad stain it's rubbed first with a solid soap laundry bar. Everything is washed at 40° apart from school shirts which occasionally go on 90°.

Big stuff is dried outside if fine or inside on laundry maiden. Small stuff outside or tumble drier. No additional softeners, fragrances etc

I do all the time. Colour catcher in every wash. Mixed colours and never dull whites. (Not that i would care anyway)!
I only separate by heat setting. Towels and bedding on hot. Clothes on 30 degrees. DH work clothes on 40.
I use pods and no softeners. Unstoppables only when i see them on offer.

I didn't rate it. It was okay for stuff which was being washed as a 'freshen up', but it was no good for anything which had any marks on.

Ariel Non Bio in a massive box from Costco ,Sometimes the Anti Bac laundry wash, with Vanish powder for towels

No extras , gave up on them a while ago as they cost too much

I cant have strong smelling bedsheets as I can't sleep in them so they are washed on hot with powder( all my towels and bedding is white)

If there was ever a Dibb award for best post yours would win ! Employing a non bio person just to do your washing - I am still smiling (and after a meeting I have just had that took some doing !)
