Evening all 😊

I would really appreciate your opinion on this, please.

A few weeks ago I contacted a reccomended plumbing company to install machines in our laundry. They faffed about then came out to give us a quote.

On Friday they dropped off half the materials.

DH called them yesterday and they still wouldn't give us a date they said we are really busy we might start it on Friday or next week.

There communication has been poor its us thats had to chase them for information.

What would you guys do?

Also can anyone please recommend good business insurance I can't find any that will insure us.

Honestly my stress levels are through the roof 😭

Have you paid them any money? If yes then you need to contact them in writing and request a start and finish date.
Did you get this from them before accepting the quote?

If you haven't paid anything then look for an alternative company

Thank you, no I haven't paid them any money yet, thankfully. Yeah they gave us a date and said it would be a 2 day job. They have now moved the date several times.

For business insurance, especially unusual risks, I wholeheartedly recommend Park Insurance of Bristol (hope that�s allowed).

Funnily enough, we were in Florida recently at the same time as the owner and we were both in the Lion King show at the same time (different sections) lol

If they can�t help you I will be amazed, give them a call.

They dont seem reliable at all so I would realy think about cancelling and finding someone else.

Who knows how long they actually take to do the job, they have said a few days but they dont seem to be giving the impression of being a reliable, trustworthy company.

I would cut your losses.

From what I remember you are in the Highlands. My personal experience with tradesmen in that local area is that the chance of getting someone who won't act as you describe is slim to none. If you have references and you've heard via word of mouth that they do good work I'd persevere, as crappy as it is. We wouldn't get away with it in our jobs but hey ho.
