Excited about Disney

Glad this post popped up, as I decided, with only 2 weeks before I travel, to hire a car. I was going to use Uber's, but flying into SFB instead of MCO adds enough cost to the two airport journeys to make the added convenience of having my own car worth it.
Having scoured the websites, it came down to a 'Mystery Car - a Compact or bigger' for £177 with Dollar, or an Intermediate SUV with Alamo (booked through Netflights) for £184. For the extra £7 I took the Alamo deal as I have always been happy with the service from them. The only problem was that I forgot to double check the Pick up and Drop off times, which had reset to 12:00 for both days. I contacted Netflights, who said they could refund and re-book, but it was now £22 more expensive, so given that the important thing is the time you go through the barrier, and I land at 15:05, I doubt I will be through before 16:00, and will be returning the car before 15:00 on going home day, I think I will leave it as is.

As you say just leave it as it is. Time out through the barrier and having the bar code zapped when you return the car are the only times that matter. Even when it's not through Virgin Alamo still give you 29 minutes grace, then a couple of hours late at an hourly rate and after that a full 24 hour charge.

Ignore me just found it on their site..
There is generally a 29 minute grace period for daily rentals. If the vehicle is returned within 2 hours of the time it was rented on a subsequent day additional hourly charges will apply. If you return the vehicle 2 hours or more from the time it was rented on a subsequent day, you will be charged for an additional day of rental. So you do not get 2hrs grace "free" only 29 mins. |

You are over thinking this!
The copy and paste I did is from the Virgin website not Alamo.

You're seeing stuff but not reading stuff.
What Tom has said about the Virgin arrangement of 2 hours grace with Alamo has never been in dispute. If you actually read my post that you quoted it clearly says "even when it's not through Virgin ………" you still get 29 minutes. Time to chill I think or you'll be in a serious mess when you arrive in MCO. Mick
