Have you seen the blog “Peter and Jane”? It’s about the trials and tribulations of a mum who likes wine, her children (moppets) and 2 Border Terriers aka the “Border Terrorists”. Should give you some insight into these funny, loving but very strong willed little animals! 🐶

Also look on Facebook for Judgy Dog (their first border) and she is on Instagram as judgydogandgill.

We were "owned" by a Border Terrier for about 14 years until he passed away last year, and getting him was one of the best decisions of my life.

Clever, stubborn and will walk for miles and miles.

Definitely get some re-call training done but they sometimes get the "red mist" and closed ears syndrome!

Hand stripping is a must in order to keep the coat in tip top condition, quite therapeutic doing yourself, lost of videos and advice online.

The Border Terrier has two coats, designed to keep the dog warm and waterproof. The top layer is harsh bristly hair and the lower level a softer shorter hair.

The top layer will need to be stripped, rather than clipped, out.

Contrary to some beliefs a Border Terrier will moult, especially as the coat is becoming ready to be stripped.

(online can get heated about the pros and cons of hand stripping and cutting / clipping - I personally only ever hand stripped).

Not sure - someone sent it to me as a bit of a joke. Rusty (our BT), became a bit of a "one man dog" after I took some time off work to housetrain / bond with him.

He ended up becoming my "shadow" - tremendously loyal, much to the annoyance of other family members
