Ryan Maguires an Irish bar near 9/11 was our favorite meal of the trip as we actually got vegetables ! We realized after the first day that the queues were out of the door at the popular restaurants so decided to have our main meal at lunch time. We then took pizzas back to the hotel in the evening. I had worried about the cost of meals but it wasn’t anywhere near as expensive as I thought it would be.

We found Jacks 99c store not too far from our hotel for snacks and drinks.

I’m thinking the same to have dinner at lunch time as I can’t be doing with queuing for food and in theory it should be cheaper. At least you have helped by saying it’s not astronomical

We we're pretty boring with our food choices in NYC, but then again we're not fancy foodies here, we just like good tasty food lol. We ate at Buffalo Wild Wings, Shake Shack and a couple of diners, one being the Tik Tok Diner under the New Yorker hotel, plus the Corner diner near Lexington, oh, and Wendys. We kind of ate on the go and wherever wasn't crazy busy. So many choices though, and none that we ate at were massively expensive!

Westway Diner (great breakfasts) and John's Italian - both a couple of blocks from Times Square. Good food and good prices.

One of our best meals was at Bareburger. I recommended to a friend and they liked it so much they went twice!
