The video I just watched on you tube just totally confused me even more. The woman on it was talking about escalators and different levels and the airport looked huge. We last flew there in 1995 and I can’t remember a thing.
Hopefully I said to do online check in with Alamo so you can go straight to the garage and pick your own car? Did I say garage B was nearest?

Apart from an underground tunnel which connects the multi-storey car park to the terminal the airport is basically three levels. Level three spans across the whole thing with food, shops and a Christmas tree in the middle and check in desks either side on A an B. Level two is nothing much apart from some other baggage claims. Level one (as is typical in the US) is ground level. Here you'll find the car hire desks on both sides (which hopefully you will avoid ) Cross the road to the car hire garage and from memory Alamo is one level up on the escalator. There is one enormous escalator on side B when returning that takes you from level 1 straight to level 3

Drive off on 417 south (close to garage B) or 528 north (close to garage A)

Me again

Now I'm wondering if I can avoid the car hire desks too! My car is also with Alamo, booked through rentalcars.com.

First of all it's possible to do OLCI with any third party provider although I've never used rentalcars. This is how it happens with Andy at DFCH. I get an Alamo rental voucher from him with an Alamo reference number - 10 digits and earlier this year it was 128xxxxxxx

Andy's email has a link to this

alamo/en_US/car-rental/checkin.html

Next page is a form about your flights and D/L details - beware the inconsistent US M/D/Y format Next page is a bar code which is what you need at the barrier plus your D/L and CC (or complaint Debit card)

Skipping the counter is simply what you can do when you've done OLCI - STC is not a separate process.

Check out the OLCI & Skip the counter threads, no harm in trying

Hello again!

I managed to complete the Alamo online check in and get the page with the bar code on it - but it still says at the bottom of this page that I need to go to the Alamo counter on the first floor to collect my rental agreement and keys.

This seems to happen to lots of Dibbers.

Just ignore it and go straight to the garage. If you hire up to a full size car the keys will be in the vehicle. Maybe SUV and higher they will be in the kiosk office in the garage.

The guy at the barrier will give you the agreement.

My pleasure - that's what the DIBB is all about and thankfully most contributors to the car forum are a helpful bunch.

Never stayed on site so don't ask me about DDP. Haven't been to a park since 2010 so I never talk about FPs. Haven't sat in a Uber or Lynx bus in my life.

But I have driven a bit over there.
