So with a combination of Tom and my answers we might be getting there but it's still very important to know if you've done OLCI so that you can skip the counter.
Having arrived in MCO about 18 times since 2008 (when we stopped flying into SFB) and Tom maybe a hundred we know that it can take anything between 15 minutes to 2 hours to get through immigration. Let's take an arbitrary average of 1 hour so if you've done OLCI you could be sitting in a car of your choice in either garage A or B by say 16.15. Please note what Tom says and Alamo won't care when you pick it up. You need to get it back by 16.55 and, as Tom says, Virgin and Alamo have a deal of 2 hours grace anyway. If you haven't done OLCI and need to visit the VH desk over on side A or queue for an hour at the Alamo terminal desk then you get to the car even later. Mick

I've just done OLCI, which made me realise the times. So will be in the garage ASAP.

Focus on Micks post above this. I assume you are going to the Virgin Holidays hut in garage A for your documents as all VH customers have to. Don't hang around, go straight there, get your docs and the free water. Tell them you want to invoke the 2 hour bring back late rule. It's all on their website.
Grace Period Alamo will give you a 2-hour Grace period to return your car in case you are stuck in traffic etc. For example, if you are due to return the car at 1800 and return the car at 1930 you will not be charged any extra fees.

Bar code after doing OLCI (some say Alamo voucher as well but bar code replicates all the info), D/L and a CC (or compliant debit card) is all you need.
Garage A or B doesn't matter unless you have to go to the VH desk on side A to collect anything Mick

Thanks for your help, if I've got a 2 hour grace we should be fine to drop it off.

Side A is where the 'Pit Stop' is located and all the VH staff. You must go to the Pit Stop (little hut in garage A) as a VH customer. They will sort you out.

We were due to return our Alamo car on Thursday. We had a text from Virgin saying flight delayed by 2 hours. I quickly emailed Andy at DFCH to ask if we had any leeway on a later return than was "booked". His response was that we had 29 minutes over the time we exited the car park, so basically the booking was return at 4pm. We actually left the car park at 5.25 on arrival, so we needed to return at 5.54.
On another note, I'm sure everyone gets a bit bored with hearing this next bit, but hats off to Andy at DFCH. We had a minor issue (confusion at the exit barrier) and he put me straight on what to do, and if there was an issue (there was not) he'd sort it out. Top man I'll be back (already checking prices for next year).
