Texas Again!

Well,
All booked up for Texas again. 2 years running now. Ive never done a return holiday to the same place so close together, But man i love that place it is fantastic for Country music sports and nightime entertainment. Having to go again in July though and man its hot.
This year we did visit a lot of places but next year im only doing Fort Worth/Dallas and Austin. Also got a great deal on a Dodge Challenger through Enterprise via happytoursusa for just under £400 for 16 days.
THE COUNTDOWN HAS BEGUN

I’ve been twice. Once as a holiday and the other as a overnight, flying from Boston to see a NFL game.

Would love to go back and visit other places within the state

Theres so much to do. And we never go back anywhere 2 years running but Texas is the exception. Being a foody and a lover of country music and craft beers helps i suppose. On the subject of beer there is so much choice its amazing. We visited one bar in Austin that had 203 beers on tap!

Did you go to the Coast when you were there? Very tempted by Texas next year but would want some time on the coast and wondering how it compares to Florida Gulf Coast. Looking at Galveston or Corpus Christie areas.
Also, how is the heat compared with Florida? We'd be going late August so will be hot & humid I know.
Vague idea would be Houston - Austin - New Braunfels (tubing) - corpus Christie. Maybe 8/9 days inland then 5 on Coast.

Could vary itinerary and try and get to Dallas, and stop in San Antonio after New Braunfels but need to check distances as might be doing too much moving on.

Never did the texas coast not heard great reports.
We did Fort Worth/Dallas Austin New Braunfells and San Antonio. It was Hot Hot Hot.
But only humidity we really experienced was in San Antonio.
Tubing is great and a definite must do.Most of the time it was at least 35 degrees at night.

We got married in Austin three years ago at a place called Chapel Dulcinea. its absolutely beautiful. We were staying with family so spent some days with them, other than that we visited The Alamo, we had lunch at The oasis on Lake Travis where the food was just ok but the views were breathtaking. We wandered up and down 5th Street listening to the live music in the bars. Unfortunately there was no college football on when we visited but wow the UT stadium is a sight to behold and would put some of our footy ones to shame. I am certain it holds 100k and just massive. Football is a religion in Texas and Austin seems to be the centre of it.
