Down to the standard 8 now Might have been an idea to stagger the sale of these ... bookable at 180 days out with restaurants or 60 days out with fast pass maybe?

Just through your MDE account when you choose your magic bands but only the plain ones are available at present .

What I don’t understand is how they have run out on a preorder especially if people have ordered a year out. They have enough time to make many more . Surely they have a system in place to sort the orders out or perhaps I am just expecting too much as it is Disney after all.

You have to remember that the US guests get them straight away as they can have them shipped at any time once they have ordered them, unlike UK guests who only get them on arrival. This means that bands for US guests go out straight away and so reduces the stock immediately. The bottom line is Disney underestimated the demand and got caught out

Disney should simply introduce pre-orders for the total range of bands.
They would then know how many and which bands need to be made available for a known date (either the UK booked arrival at the resort or delivered maybe 30 days before arrival for the US guests).
Everyone then gets the opportunity to book a special custom band (from the full range), Disney get paid on order (more early money for them) and there shouldn't be any stock outs as the advanced demand is known (both Disney and guest win).
Thats how I thought it was going to work, not realising that anyone in the States receives their band as soon as it is ordered (even years away).

That would be common sense . I agree they should look at when your stay is booked rather than just shipping them out regardless of where you are in the world .

Just popped on to say the same having just logged into. MDE and been presented with 52 bands to choose from!
