When to go 2021 or 2022
Hi we are planning our next trip to our happy place.
We aren’t sure whether to go 2021 or 2022 we would like to be there during the 50th birthday celebrations but we can only go August due to school term times. Does anyone have a clue when the celebrations will start. Thanks in advance. Edited at 04:13 PM. |

I don’t know, but if it’s like DLP, the celebrations will officially start on the actual anniversary, and continue for the next 12-18 months, so I’d guess 2022 would be a better time to go. I’m only going by DLP though, so hopefully someone who knows more about how it works at WDW will be along soon.

Taken from Disney Tourist blog website.
'Walt Disney World opened on October 1, 1971, meaning that its 50th Anniversary will occur on October 1, 2021. It might seem logical for its anniversary celebration to begin on that date, but this is not official. It’s just as likely that an 18 month celebration would begin slightly before then.' 2021 I would 'guess' the celebrations would start around Sept/Oct. They might start earlier in summer if they really want to extend it. There are Halloween parties in August so anything is possible. August 2022 will most likely have the celebrations as they last for at least a year. Edited at 06:06 PM. |

I’m going 2021 as I don’t think it will be as busy!

The 50th anniversary celebrations will probably run all year. Disney never miss an opportunity to milk it 😂.

Were giving it a miss in 2021 (hubby says so but watch this space) As we think it will be busy with the anniversary and the big rides tron and guardians opening.
I listen to dfb and they said that it seems to be quiet in 2020 as everyone is holding out for 21. Not heard anything about 2022 |
