With virgin its honestly worth ringing back and speaking to someone different, you often get alternatives from someone with different experience

I've also used WhatsApp over the last couple of days and think that took around 36 hours for a response just using their usual number.
Ok, no worries! I’ll give them a call at the weekend, thanks again.

We booked last night for September 2021. For 2 adults LHR - LAS economy and MCO - MAN premium economy we paid 37400 miles and £642.

Really happy with that! Still need to book domestic flight to LAX & MCO but will sort that closer to the time.

I’d originally booked MAN-MCO IN PE for 2 pax

90,000 miles (using reward upgrade)
£918

Today I stopped to UC for

65,000 miles ( so refund of 25,000 miles)
£1298 ( so extra £378)

I’m delighted!

Was going to book tonight but all my Miles have disappeared😱
Anyone else having trouble?
I’ve tweeted them but not heard anything yet.

I rang them to ask for a quote for upgrading and hey couldn’t access my points. Was on hold for about 20 mins (after I’d waited for 1.5 hrs). Must had been a company wide issue.

Got a quote tonight for 70k points and £360 in tax to upgrade from premium to upper. We don’t have the points left but could buy 70k points for £705. Is it worth £1065 to upgrade from premium to upper (just one way). We are a family of 4 going from man to mco and it would mean changing from the A330 200 to A330 300.
Meant to add this is in august school holidays. Will mean in total 200k points and £2850 to go out upper and back premium.

I’m going out UC and coming back PE in August. Family of 4. It’s only costing 179k miles (will be 32k less once my companion voucher goes back on) and £2,277 in tax. Have you done yours as two single flights?

I’ve currently got PE booked both ways as a return and used two companion seats so it cost 130k points and £1.8k in tax but it was booked a few months ago.

If you cancelled and rebooked, you could have UC out and PE back for the 147k in miles (once the companion voucher went back on to your account), keep one companion voucher still (they said to me I could only use one voucher on a return booking but could be less miles if they let you) and another £500 total in tax.

The downside to all that is that you'd be waiting for the refund of 1.8k in taxes whilst paying out another 2.3k and there's no guarantees that the reward flights you cancel would come back on (unless there are enough reward flights on that date anyway).

It's so complicated and everyone I speak to says something different!

But upper is lush... Good luck!
