As a follow up to my earlier post - been out here since Thursday and the sat nav works fine. It is a refurbished unit, which was clear at point of sale, and has to be connected to the power socket at all times as battery life is very poor if not (again, this was stated in the advert), but had we have hired a unit from the car rental firm, we would have paid a lot more. As we are here again at xmas, and are planning on visiting other areas of the US in the next few years, I'd say that it has been money well spent.

Just returned from our trip and can report the same, unit worked fine, albeit a bit old and tired. Saved us hiring one and can re-use again.
