Charge to Upgrade Child to Adult

Hi all
I rang Disney today to upgrade my 9 year old to the adult ticket as I had read that the price difference was only about 20 euro ( the difference between adult and child tickets ) and then he would get the free adult dining plan so more choice etc.
However, they also want to charge a 50 euro amendment fee so I didn't bother as yet.
Thought that was really cheeky when paying so much for a holiday.
Has anyone else experience of this?
Thanks.

They shouldn't charge an amendment fee if your overall price goes up, did you make any other changes at the same time that would have decreased (or equalled) the price or was it just the ticket request?

However this is specifically for WDTC UK. Because you've mentioned euro, I don't know if the T&Cs for other regions are different.

I would double check the T&Cs and call back if they say you shouldn’t be charged.

Yes I booked with the Irish site. I pointed out to her that because the overall charge was going up that it negated the amendment fee but she was having none of it...
I must check out the small print.
She said as I was changing a DOB that it required some changes to the legalities of the contract or other such nonsense, hence charging me.

Didn't go for it in the end but was a bit annoyed as others seem to have gotten it without the amendment fee.

Just said I would update !

I checked the terms and conditions and rang back. The girl I spoke with this time said I was correct and that I need not pay an amendment fee!

Unbelievable, thanks all.

It just shows, you need to be on the ball!
