DH and I often go out to the villa on different days ( after 35 + years we know we don't travel well together ) so the car is hired on who ever is arriving first and we nip into the nearest car hire office of the company when the other arrives to add on the other driver never have an issue in the last 8 years doing this

Another point, if you want your husband to hire the car, he can use a debit card, doesn't have to be a credit card

Hi , just checking again, i am about to pay for the car hire through Virgin , it is asking for the main driver details. Am i ok to enter my details as card in my name, however i will only be doing a small amount of driving and it will be my Husband who will be driving away at airport so he is actual main driver. Thank you

If your husband is doing the majority of driving, I would put him as the main driver. Technically, I don't suppose it matters though.

I always rent the car but my husband drives, it doesn't matter if the card/booking is in your name, as long as you put his details as the driver.

Put yourself as the driver and the contract is then in your name. When you do OLCI enter his details. It matters not who drives when as long as you both are on the agreement.
