Virgin Reward Booking

Hey,
We are coming to the date when reward seats will be released fr our 2019 trip and I'm wondering whether its better to wait until the return flights are available (another 2 weeks) and book a return journey or to book the outbound leg as soon as they are available and then book the inbound 2 weeks later. I'm worried about availability.
Thanks!

Depends. If it’s peak times like xmas and summer holidays then I would book one ways when they come up. Otherwise I’d wait for the return as it does work out a little more in taxes booking one ways.
Also, since the delta merger, the reward flights haven’t been released at the same time as cash flights so don’t be too worried if they don’t show up for a few weeks.
