Mobile Uber warning - water parks

We are in Orlando at the moment, using Ubers all the time and up until now we've loved the ease of it. Yesterday we ordered an uber from Typhoon Lagoon and when we got in, our driver was a little bit concerned that we might still be damp, so we sat on our towels (although we were dressed in dry clothes). Later that night we noticed that on top of our fare we had been charged $80 for cleaning! This charge is designated by uber for vomit or significant food or beverage spill! When we had looked at the seats on leaving the car, no wet patches were visible. Needless to say, we are contesting this charge and believe our driver was looking for an opportunity to make some more $$. Has anyone else had experience of this?

I am abit confused. Why did you sit on the towels if you were wearing dry clothes instead of swimsuits? Were the towels damp or sandy? I know ours tend to be quite wet when we leave a waterpark.

Seems strange the driver would risk his ratings if there wasn't any reason he couldn't pick up another fare straight away.

We had no problems when we were picked up from Blizzard Beach or Aquatica - our drivers didn't even ask the question about whether we were dry.

We had barely used our towels as the sun was so hot - we used them to assure the driver! We have had no problems with drivers when picked up from other waterparks or when we have been caught in the rain! Our experience with uber has been amazing other than this one very annoying experience.

I have found Uber customer service reaqlly good in the past. Did you rate the driver, if not maybe now is a good time to give him 1*!

Apart from this situation which hopefully you get sorted quickly, it's reassuring to see that you have used Uber all the time and it's been good for you. We are staying in a villa for 2018 but won't be hiring a car and have been slightly concerned about transport.

We didn't have this last year when leaving the waterparks. Sounds like you said, the driver is out to make some extra dollars! If you haven't already then make sure you rate him. We had one crazy driver who was speeding round corners on two wheels and rated him 1 star. Within minutes we had an email directly from Uber asking us what had gone wrong so their customer service is great.
