In our case, housekeeping found them. We returned to a half cleaned room (and a voicemail) - they obviously leave the room and their equipment so they don’t contaminate any others.

It wasnt clarified, but we suspect another room on the same block has had them too hence the random checks. Not ideal with a 3 year old in the room but they have been very good and gave him a cuddly toy and a new fleece type blanket

Im sure I read somewhere else that this happened in OKW this week too. Unfortunately it can happen anywhere. Just make sure EVERYTHING is fumigated x

As Ericsmum says you must get your suitcases fumigated too or you recontaminate your clothes & bring the bedbugs home with you. NEVER leave suitcases on the floor to start with.

Unfortunately this isn't an isolated issue
We like all good villa owners we have procedures in place to combat this especially if guests are coming from all on site accomadation
We were once in a five star really stuck up hotel ( a company bonus weekend ) bitten alive by bed bugs yesxwe made them do allour stuff and move us

We came home yesterday from 2 weeks at cbr with no issues! We opted out of housekeeping, however we came back to room half way through holiday and our sheets had been changed and room cleaned... perhaps they were checking?

I always check the beds before we do any thing in any hotel, I pull back the top sheet then the bottom sheet and check the mattresses seams looking out for any little black spots (bed bugs), DD thinks I am crazy but better safe than sorry plus that’s what your phones torch light is for (isn’t it).
