My Disney Experience reservation linking not working.

Hey everyone,

The Wife and I booked our Walt Disney World trip on Thursday the 25th of April. I had the E-mail confirming my reservation and giving me my reservation number, We are not going until 25th April 2020 but my wife is getting really impatient and really wants to link it to MDE.

Has anyone else on here been able to link a reservation they booked around the same time i booked or if not how long have people had to wait to be able to link it?

Many thanks in advance for any help and answers.

Told not to try to link by wdw for 10 days at least.

Given that its 2020, might wait 3 weeks

This panic happens every year. Last year's trip took me 6 weeks to link after booking on release day and this year's trip took me 3 weeks to link after booking a month after release day. Thousands of people book direct with Disney and it has to go from the UK booking system through the US booking system. So it's bound to take quite a long time particularly if booking on release day. Do you have an invoice from Disney? That's what's important at this stage to me. I don't care how long it takes to link as long as it's done by 180 days out, ADR day.

Booked mine on the same day walshmefc and can't link either. It does say it can take 30 days and from reading other posts, sometimes longer. I'm terribly impatient/overexcited and keen to link but I think I'm going to have to wait this one out!

Assuming you booked directly with Disney, the "Plan Your Holiday" section at the bottom of your booking confirmation states that linking can take up to 30 days

When I rung Disney yesterday to make a room change for our trip next year (Different rooms came available after release) she recommended waiting 4-6 weeks because of the backlog!

Thanks for your help everyone, I think I’m going to have to try and keep the wife calm on this one and distract her away from MDE. This could be a long few weeks with the wife keep asking if we can link yet 🤦🤦

I’ve booked for September 2020 too and we booked last month and was able to book at the start of this week so it does take a few weeks.
