Car hire at Universal

We are planning a trip for next August but, to keep costs down, are only planning on hiring a car for part of the holiday.

We will use MDE from the airport, do 6 nights at Disney then move to Universal for 4 nights (using Uber/Lyft to transfer) and then moving to Floridays for the last 7 nights.

The plan was to just hire a car for the last 7 nights. Where would you recommend we pick up the car from? I am not familiar with rental locations at or near to Universal.

The other option would be to hire from the Disney Car Centre on the day we move to Universal but that is an additional 4/5 days hire plus parking charges at Universal. This would give us the opportunity to go offsite a bit more when at Universal though.

Any thoughts?

I was looking at this recently as I wanted to pick up a rental car after our stay at universal.

The rental car company they use on site at universal is Avis, so we are picking our car up from the hotel.

I did look at Hertz, Alamo etc and there are some areas on international drive you can pick up but we would need to Uber to get the car and for us the cost difference just wasn`t worth it.
