I don't remember comics because Gutenberg hadn't yet invented the printing press when I was a boy.

Seriously though I did have the Eagle if only for those cut away views of railway engines, aircraft and stuff. And who can forget Dan Dare's major foe the Mekon?

We didn't have TV in 1952 but I did watch the coronation in a neighbour's house. Anyone remember TV continuity announcers wearing evening dresses or black tie?

The scariest thing I remember is "Quatermass and the Pit"

Mick

TV..
Tom and Jerry. I much preferred the gratuitous violence to Mickey Mouse.
Scooby Doo. Those ‘darned kids’ ruined people’s fun and entrepreneurial efforts every week.
Dr Who with its very high tech special effects and scenery. The Zybermen terrified me.
The Saint. Roger Moore never cut it as James Bond. To me, he was Simon Templar.
The Monkees (Still think Daydream believer is one of the greatest songs ever).. and ‘Different drum, written by Michael Nesmith.
I as a few years b4 you. To be honest I dont remember MM being around much in the 50s or 60s, certainly not the brand we have today.

Loved Tom And Jerry, but Top Cat was high on my like list.

None of it allowed now. They all used to bash each other on the head and set traps to cause each other harm. That obviously turned us all into violent criminals so best stick to night garden eh!

I used to get the Jackie and Mandy.
The TV shows were Dr Who but I use to hide behind the settee because I was scared of the Darleks Crackerjack and I can vaguely remember Pinky and Perky Bill and Ben the flowerpot men and Andy Pandy.

Started off with Twinkle comic loved reading about Nurse Nancy and thought the dolls hospital was real I have 3 sisters and 4 brothers so the comics were many. Judy, Mandy and Bunty, then some teenage magazines with picture stories absolutely loved them, for boys there was 2000AD, Battle, and some football comic for one of my brothers, can’t remember the name. We used to have so many different ones over the years we loved Fridays when one of us was sent to the newsagents to collect the order along with mum’s Weekly News and People’s Friend. She must of spent a fortune and right up until the day I got married (age 20) she still bought the magazines
TV programmes were Watch with Mother esp Mary Mungo and Midge. Trumpton, Michael Bentines Potty Time, Magpie, Blue Peter and Rhubarb.

Going back before everyone got a tv for the Coronation, I used to stay glued to the radio for “Listen with Mother” (not that my mother listened, LOL).

I loved the beano & Dandy !
We didn’t watch much TV to be honest apart from Christmas time. Wizard of Oz and I would hide behind a cushion when the wicked witch cave on lol
Other than that is was the weekend, bullseye and dusty bin
