Donating Clothes?

Hello

My husband died in November and I decided yesterday I really needed to start sorting his many, many clothes. So far I have five full bin bags just of trousers and t shirts and still a wardrobe full of shirts and lots of shoes to go. I'm presuming until charity shops open again there isn't anywhere that will take these clothes?

I also have two bin bags of clothes that aren't good enough to donate to a charity shop but don't know if there's anywhere they can go rather than just throwing them away?

Thanks

OP. An awful job to do so all credit to you.

I suppose each area varies but where I live although the charity shops are shut they are still collecting the huge donation bins in supermarket car parks etc. I know most charities (in normal times) take all clothes even those only fit for rags as they sell them on by the kilo if they cannot sell them.

I hadn't thought of homeless charities, thank you.

You wouldn't say that if you saw how I'm coping most days, but thought I had to start doing something.

Thank you, I wasn't sure if they were still collecting from those, but I can look when I next go to the supermarket. I had thought I'd read that some places take them to sell by the kilo. Thanks

Now you've mentioned that I remember seeing one outside our fire station a few weeks ago, so will definitely have a look, thank you.

Yes, the money raised goes to the Firefighters Charity - most of the main crewed stations have them.
