Villa owner may increase cost of stay...
I’m looking for a villa for our 2022 holiday. One owner (NOT A DIBB VILLA) has responded saying due to economics he wants to put a clause in our booking that he MAY increase the rental rate capped to 10%.
I find this ridiculous, to me the rental price agreed is exactly that. Has anyone else heard or or seen this? When we owned our villa we would have NEVER done this. |

I would simply walk away. I understand Villa owners being tentative about taking bookings and losing out but I would not agree with that
|

As an owner once the deposit is paid the price quoted is final and would not be increased, by accepting such a clause you can bet it will cost you 10% more than quoted.
This is the first time i have heard of an owner doing such a thing and can see any new bookings with them may not happen if they continue with this practice. Steve |

That's mad. Villa owners are used to gambling with prices anyway due to exchange rates.

I feel the same as all of you. I’ve told him ‘ not a chance’ and he’s come back saying it only ‘may’ increase. I’m pretty sure it will 🤣

Personally I would never book with that owner.

He responded again saying ‘if I wanted to book he could have a rethink on the increase clause’. Goodbye villa 🤣 |
