Lego delivery

Hi, ordered the Police Station from lego on New Year’s Day, email to say it had been shipped on Wednesday 6th and money taken then, since then ... nothing, it’s not showing on the DPD tracking and the lego site warn that deliveries are taking longer than usual and emails are likely to take 7 days to reply...
I understand that Brexit and Covid will have an effect but is this happening to anyone else? Before Christmas deliveries were only taking a couple of days and were able to be tracked 24 hours after shipping?

I also ordered on New Years Day, shipped on the 6th, my tracking is working but it’s been stuck at Mechelen (BE) since then. Hopefully it will start moving soon, I did have another Lego parcel come but that was sent DHL on Friday and arrived yesterday!

I can't help with Lego sorry but we had a blind delivered yesterday by DPD. However their tracking said it was loaded on the van and out for delivery on Saturday.

No issue to me so maybe they are inundated with gear?

Lego have put on their website they are having delays with U.K. shipments at the moment. We’ve ordered hundreds (no joke) of times from Lego before, and only ever had a problem once. They were extremely helpful on the phone and chucked in a freebie. So it’s worth a call if there is a problem!

Well I rang lego yesterday, after waiting for ages (on a premium line) I was told I had a justified enquiry but she didn’t have a contact number for DPD, which I find hard to believe) so would email them and get back to me when she gets a reply... I’m not holding my breath...
Why can’t they put a statement on their website that long delays are likely... or are they frightened they would lose customers?

There is a statement on their website that says "We expect to see delays to orders shipped to the UK over the coming weeks".

There's a banner on the main page warning of the UK deliver delays with a link that goes here:
lego/en-gb/page/ship...-NO-Z2TXKJQJZU

Admittedly, after the initial warning in the orange banner at the top, it then still says that standard delivery "takes 2-4 business days".

Mine turned up today. Probably customs related as they ship from Belgium.

Given the circumstances I'm not too concerned.

It's worth pointing out that the way customs (specifically VAT) is handled changed on the 1st January.

Companies outside the UK now have to pay VAT at the point of purchase. Previously, the companies in the EU, there was no UK VAT to pay and for companies outside the UK the recipient was responsible for any UK VAT to be paid.

It's caused a bit of a panic with some foreign companies who have only just realised that they now need to register with HMRC, collect the VAT on payment and send this to the UK.
